Old 1st Ward Community Association, Inc.
The Old First Ward Community Center, home of the Shamrock Run is located
in the heart of the Old First Ward, one of the many distinct and colorful neighborhoods in the City of Buffalo.
Settled in the early to mid-1800’s largely by Irish immigrants drawn by opportunities on the waterfront and in
the grain and steel mills, the area has a distinctly Irish flavor, with street names such as O’Connell, Fitzgerald
and Republic. The Community Center provides a wide array of programs and services designed to strengthen and support
the neighborhood, and respond to the changing needs of the community. The Center is open Monday through Friday
from 8am-9pm year round.
